A KALMAR VILLAGE WEDDING ON UPPER CAPE COD
It may have predicted rain on Courtney + Ben’s big day, but we were determined to give them the classic coastal wedding they deserved. With a little help from Mother Nature, everything came together beautifully!
This Boston-based couple had dreams of a destination wedding where their family and friends could all gather together for the weekend. Kalmar Village in Truro provided the ideal location. With its oceanfront location, it has that unique old Cape Cod charm where guests stay in quaint cottages right off the beach.
The morning of the wedding, Courtney + Ben got ready in separate cottages on the property. They then headed to nearby Provincetown for their first look. In his dapper seersucker suit, Ben was speechless when he saw Courtney in her lace a-line gown with romantic curls and luminous makeup by Bridal Beauty by Madelyne Elizabeth. Together they were the perfect Cape Cod bride and groom.
Since it was supposed to pour on the day of the wedding, our team was prepared for anything nature had up her sleeve. Courtney + Ben were so sweet and very easy to work with as we made contingency plans. But the rain never came!
After grabbing pictures in P-town, the wedding party traveled back to Kalmar Village for the ceremony. Courtney + Ben said their vows in front of the sprawling Truro dunes with a clear view of the Atlantic Ocean - such a unique backdrop!
Following their “I dos,” guests walked down the boardwalk to a large white tent for cocktail hour and to fête Courtney + Ben. The happy couple shared their first dance beneath twinkling lights, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Then they partied the night away!
When it comes to planning a wedding, it’s important to remember that anything can happen during an outdoor celebration. It’s perfectly fine to have a little rain on your wedding day (and it can actually be good luck for the marriage!), but our team is always prepared, continuously checking on the weather and updating last-minute plans to make it all happen so that the happy couple only has to worry about showing up and looking their best.
And in the end, all that matters is you get to say “I Do” and be with the special people in your life, which is my favorite part! But I am glad that it did not end up pouring like originally predicted, and that Courtney + Ben’s beautiful beach wedding turned out as perfect as we planned!
