A SKAKET BEACH WEDDING AT THE CAPTAIN LINNELL HOUSE IN ORLEANS, MA

Max and Tori were one of the most laid-back, relaxed couples we’ve ever worked with here at Jessica Hennessey Weddings. With a seaside wedding ceremony set to take place on Skaket Beach in Orleans, MA - Hurricane Dorian came howling in the night before. Watching the weather has become a huge part of my job on Cape Cod as a wedding planner. Once you cross the bridge, it’s often it’s own little bubble vortex and you truly never do know what might happen!

One thing about outdoor weddings in New England? Always, always, always have a contingency plan. In this case, if we couldn’t be outside on the beach - we were going to move indoors at the Captain Linnell House. Max and Tori were really positive, and wanted to wait and see what happened over the course of the morning. As dark skies, crazy winds and driving rain hit us first thing, the forecast started looking up. They started with a first look at the Captain Linnell House, and some photos with their wedding party.

Soon after, the skies then parted ways and there was not a cloud to be seen come 4:30pm! You would never know Hurricane Dorian swept through, and then was gone, in the blink of an eye - literally. Just in time for them to exchange vows on Skaket Beach. Pretty lucky, and pretty awesome, huh?

After the ceremony, Max and Tori enjoyed each other’s company on the beach a bit as their guests headed over to the Captain Linnell House for dinner and a laid-back reception.
